Keryn Cowell
Professional Background & Philosophy
I qualified with a BSc. Physiotherapy from UCT in 2011. After completing my community service year in Port Elizabeth, I joined a private practice in Claremont, working at Life Kingsbury Hospital. I later completed my Masters in Physiotherapy at Stellenbosch University in 2016.
I have a keen passion for rehabilitation and pain management, with a particular interest in:
-
Respiratory rehabilitation (for lung conditions)
-
Acute and chronic pain
-
Chronic fatigue and Long-Covid syndromes
-
Post-lower limb injury/surgery rehabilitation
My Approach
In this practice, I have created an environment in which people can come and recover, find the joy in movement again, and take charge of their own rehabilitation to ensure a real improvement in quality of life.
-
Empowerment: I am a firm believer in the power of the human body and movement; I have a passion and desire to help others find this in themselves.
-
Evidence-Based Practice: I am a keen academic and enjoy learning and challenging myself. For me, practicing evidence-based physiotherapy is very important.
-
Quality Care: I strive to provide the best possible care for all my clients with the goal of restoring movement, empowering each client, and improving their quality of life.
